EL RENO, Okla. - Thursday morning started out like any other for Canadian County clerk Shelley Dickerson.
"It was just a loud crash and, of course, I screamed," Dickerson said. "The people down the hall heard it. It was very, very loud."
While Dickerson was working at her desk at the Canadian County Administration Building, a car crashed into the wall of her office.
"It kind of pushed the file cabinet and the windows are bent and everything," she said.
The collision caused the cinder block wall to buckle, but it didn't collapse.
Even though Dickerson was working just a few feet away, she escaped without injury.
"We can fix cars and we can fix buildings. We're just glad nobody got seriously injured in this," said Undersheriff Chris West, with the Canadian County Sheriff's Office.
Officials say the cause of the crash appears to be a fluke accident.
"As the driver pulled up to park, instead of hitting the brake, they hit the accelerator and jumped the curb," said West.
As for Dickerson, she's taking the strange crash in stride.
"We're joking that I like to remodel every now and then, so the good news is we can take the wall out and add a patio or something like that outside," she said.
As for the driver of the car, that woman was treated and released with only minor injuries.
