Oklahoma running back Samaje Perine was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday, a day after breaking the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision record for rushing yards in a game.

Perine rushed for 427 yards on 34 carries and scored five touchdowns in OU's 44-7 win over Kansas on Saturday.

His blockers, including a very happy offensive line, may have been more proud of the record than Perine.

Dylan Buckingham reports from Norman.
