OKLAHOMA CITY – Emergency crews were called to a three alarm fire at an apartment complex in southwest Oklahoma City Monday night.

The blaze started just after 9:15 p.m. at Brookwood Apartments.

Officials say a man and woman were alerted to the fire by their 5-year-old daughter.

They tried to leave through the front door, but flames were shooting through the breezeway of the apartment.

The family then rushed to the balcony where they threw the 5-year-old to neighbors who were standing below.

Then, the man and his wife jumped to safety.
