OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Thunder fans are hoping for an early Christmas present on Tuesday evening.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Thunder star Kevin Durant may return to the lineup on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

“If Kevin Durant goes through shootaround today in New Orleans okay, doesn’t get hurt in that shootaround, the plan is for him to make his season debut tonight against the Pelicans,” Windhorst said in a video report.

Durant has been sidelined with a foot injury, which also forced him to undergo surgery earlier this year.

Russell Westbrook, who was also out with an injury, just returned to the lineup.

So far this season, the Oklahoma City Thunder are just 5-12.

Tipoff for Tuesday’s game is set for 7 p.m. in New Orleans.
