OKLAHOMA CITY – A lot of families will be heading to the stores to purchase Christmas presents for loved ones in the coming weeks.

However, a few shoppers got quite a surprise on Monday afternoon.

Nick Collison, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant were at the Target on Pennsylvania Ave. and Memorial to help with a special shopping spree.

Players, coaches and the Thunder Girls helped families with Sunbeam Services shop for the holidays as part of a program called “Grandparents Raising Grandchildren.”

“You reminisce about being a kid again. Once you go shopping with them and see the stuff they like, that’s probably the funnest part. And just knowing we had this opportunity and how much it brightens up the holiday season, feels good,” said Durant.

This was the Thunder’s seventh year to help with the shopping spree.
