OKLAHOMA CITY –  An elderly woman passed away due to injuries sustained from a crash that involved an Oklahoma City police officer.

Officials say Officer Bryant Hollaway and 79-year-old Marinan Reese collided while traveling along N.W. 150th St. and Sugar Loaf.

Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital.

Reese later passed away at the hospital.

“We are saddened to report that Ms. Reese passed away late last night.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family,” police said in a statement Saturday morning.

MSgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department, says the officer involved in the crash has been placed on medical leave.
