Traffic alert: Construction has traffic backed up for miles on Turner Turnpike

LUTHER, Okla. – Drivers in the Oklahoma City metro area who are heading home may need to take another route on Friday afternoon.

According to officials with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, construction of a new bridge and interchange on the Turner Turnpike are causing major delays.

The construction is occurring at the Luther/ Jones Interchange near mile marker 146.

Authorities say traffic is backed up in both directions and drivers are encouraged to find another route.
