Rant: Did Cleveland Browns player go too far with this shirt?
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland police union is demanding an apology from the Cleveland Browns NFL team.
During warmups on Sunday, Browns player Andrew Hawkins wore a shirt that read, ‘Justice for Tamir Rice and John Crawford.’
Rice, 12, was shot by police outside of a recreation center in Cleveland for holding what was later determined to be a toy ‘airsoft’ gun.
Crawford, 22, was fatally shot by police during a confrontation. He was carrying a toy gun inside an Ohio Walmart.
The police union president called the shirt wearing protest by Hawkins “pathetic.”
