Convicted sex offender on the run from Oklahoma deputies arrested in Arizona

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested  a sex offender who has been on the run since 2012.

Sheriff Mike Booth, with the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, says deputies were looking for 40-year-old Joseph Sutton.

Authorities say Sutton is a convicted sex offender who failed to update his registration.

Deputies have been looking for Sutton since 2012 and had a warrant out for his arrest.

On Wednesday, Sutton was arrested in Arizona, where he is being held awaiting extradition.

Sutton was convicted of lewd or indecent proposals/acts to a child in 2000.
