Reports: 11 people hospitalized after lightning strike outside NFL stadium

TAMPA, Fla. – Several fans who were attending an NFL game were reportedly hospitalized because of a lightning strike.

According to ABC Action News, 11 people were rushed to a hospital after a lightning strike.

The victims were outside Raymond James Stadium after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had finished their game against the Green Bay Packers.

According to the Weather Channel, authorities were called to the scene around 4:20 p.m. and discovered seven victims.

Four others were able to drive themselves to a hospital for treatment.

Officials say most of those patients suffered minor injuries while one person was listed in critical condition.

At this time, it is not clear if any of the patients were directly hit by the strike.
