Police: One dead, one in serious condition after train hits car

OKLAHOMA CITY – One person is dead, another in the hospital with serious injuries after a train slammed into a car near the intersection of Meridian and Newcastle Road just after midnight.

According to police, the car was going southbound on Meridian when the car was hit by the train heading northeast.

Police are still investigating the incident. They say at this time, they aren’t sure if the driver was trying to beat the train or the car had stalled on the tracks.
