GUTHRIE, Okla. – Four-year-old twin brothers were found wandering in freezing temperatures Tuesday morning.

According to the Guthrie News Page, the boys were upset with their mother when they decided to walk to their grandmother’s house, which was about four miles away.

Around 9:30 a.m., a motorist found the boys walking in the 25 degree weather.

The Guthrie News Page says neither child was wearing socks.

One child was wearing a hoodie with no t-shirt while the other was wearing an unzipped winter jacket.

When the twins’ mother realized her children were missing, she called the children’s grandmother.

The grandmother then drove to the scene and found the twins with police officers.

The 4-year-olds were transported to the hospital due to early signs of hypothermia.

Officials estimate the children were out in the cold for around 30 minutes.

The Department of Human Services reportedly responded to the hospital where both children were released into their grandmother’s custody.
