New Jersey man arrested after making bizarre phone call to 911

BURLINGTON COUNTY, N.J. – A New Jersey man was arrested after making a bizarre phone call to 911.

According to NBC 10, 56-year-old Kurt Smith told a 911 operator that there was a disorderly person in his motel room.

When authorities arrived, police say Smith told them that there was no disturbance and that he just needed a ride to a convenience store.

The man was arrested and charged with causing a false public alarm.
