Sooner Women Pull Away Late to Beat Yale

Oklahoma’s women’s basketball team closed the game with a 21-4 run to break open a close game and beat Yale 71-54 on Tuesday night at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.

The Sooners held Yale to just 32 percent shooting, but the Bulldogs pulled to within two midway through the second half before OU turned it on to clinch the win.

Kaylon Williams led the Sooners with 20 points and 8 rebounds, hitting 10 of 12 from the field.

Peyton Little tied her career high with 18 points, while Gioya Carter tallied a career high with 17 points.

Oklahoma committed 21 turnovers, and made just 2 of 14 from three-point range.

The Sooners improved to 6-5 on the season, and will open Big 12 play on Sunday with a 3:30 home game against West Virginia.
