The next winter wave is headed to Oklahoma Friday morning

OKLAHOMA  -Roads will be very slick through Saturday, especially for central and southern Oklahoma.  An area of freezing rain will continue to move into our state from Texas.  Ice accumulations are likely in southern Oklahoma today and tomorrow.

Freezing drizzle will once again be an issue Friday morning for central and especially southern Oklahoma.  As our main upper level storm approaches, freezing rain will pick up. Through Saturday morning, up to .10″ is possible for central Oklahoma and .25″ is possible for southern Oklahoma with places near the Red River seeing upwards of .5″.  This could result in power outages in southern Oklahoma.

Ice will transition to snow on Saturday with accumulations likely in northern Oklahoma.  An arctic blast will follow for Sunday with highs only in the 20s and wind chills in the single digits!
