It was an improbable season for the Cushing Tigers. A journey that ended just shy of the state 3A title.

Head coach Barrett Shupe has embraced Bradley Bevel, a special needs student. He even made him an honorary member of the Tigers.

Bradley enthusiastically leads his team onto the football field every Friday night.  Bradley's mom, Janice said, "He said, listen, as long as Bradley wants to be a part of this team, forever and ever, if he wants to come every single year.

For that unconditional love and acceptance -- the Bevel family nominated Coach Shupe for Pay It 4Ward.

Faith Clune with Spirit Mortgage said, "It sounds like coach Shupe is an amazing guy. What an influence on Bradley.  And a wide-reaching impact he's having on so many people. So, on behalf of spirit mortgage and channel 4, we have $400 to pay it 4ward to your wonderful coach.

The Bevels lured Shupe to a local restaurant, under the premise they were buying him a "thank you" lunch.  Little did he know, we were waiting to award him $400.

Coach Shupe insists he's not worthy recognition.  He's been blessed abundantly by this special friendship. Shupe told us, ".  I have to give credit to the Lord and Savior above."

Barrett Shupe's kindness has no boundaries.  Be assured, he'll invest this $400 into others.
