OKLAHOMA CITY -  Authorities say they have arrested a 56-year-old Del City man related to the disappearance of a 4-year-old boy.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, 4-year-old Quinton Thompson was being watched by his grandmother at the time of his disappearance.

When the child's mother came home around 5 a.m. on Sunday, she realized her son was gone.

Around 11 a.m., officers learned the child was safe and had been dropped off at a convenience store near S.E. 15th St. and Durland Ave.

According to the store clerk, the man walked into the store, turned the child over and told the clerk to call the police.

However, he left before investigators could speak with him.

Authorities have since identified the man as 56-year-old George White.

After speaking with investigators, White was arrested for kidnapping.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department's Facebook page, White took the child from his home without parental permission.

They added that White did not know the child or family that lived there.
