OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma man critically injured in a tragic oil rig explosion died on Saturday.

On December 19, an oil rig explosion in Coal County killed two, and injured three more.

One of those injured, 28-year-old Mark Pittman Jr., was sent to the burn unit at Integris Baptist Medical Center with third and fourth degree burns covering 75 percent of his body.

According to KTEN, Pittman, a father of four, suffered a setback in his recovery when his second lung collapsed a few days ago.

On Saturday morning, Pittman passed away.

Fundraising efforts for his recovery will now be used to help Pittman’s wife and four children.
