OKLAHOMA CITY – A southwest Oklahoma City neighborhood is being evacuated after a gas leak.

It’s happening in a neighborhood at 3609 S. Goff Ave. , which is just west of S. Meta Ave.

The leak started around 9:30 A.M. Monday.

Oklahoma City firefighters say crews are on scene investigating a high pressure gas line leak.

Oklahoma Natural Gas is also reportedly at the scene.

Fire investigators have not said how the leak happened.

Firefighters report callers from the area said it “sounded like a jet engine” when the leak occurred.

It’s not known how long people will be out of their homes, and how long the neighborhood will be closed off.
