Oklahoma kindergartner dies, cause of death unknown
OOLOGAH, Okla. (KJRH) – A 6-year-old Oklahoma child died on Monday evening, and now a local school district is working to make sure other students are safe.
The Oologah-Talala superintendent, Max Tanner, said the school district has been in contact with the Oklahoma State Department of Health to determine if any steps need to be taken at the school.
At this time, there is no word on what caused the child’s death.
However, the Oklahoma State Department of Health says there have been no reports of any communicable or contagious diseases related to the kindergartener.
In a statement released by the district on Tuesday, Tanner asks that the community remain calm and keep thinking about the child’s family.
“The school wants to express our sincere condolences and let the family know we are praying for them. As a Superintendent, and a parent myself, my heart goes out to the family during this difficult time,” a statement by the district read.
