OKLAHOMA CITY - Spray it away. It's a new approach to weight loss using a spray tan to melt fat.

"We have one lady that on her first treatment she lost 8 inches,” Teresa Colclasure, owner of Soleil Airbrush Tanning, said.

“Then after her third treatment she lost 15."

Others boast anywhere from 4 to 7 inches lost after one use.

Colclasure is the only one of six doing this procedure in the U.S. and the only one in the state.

"I'm big on health and obviously what we put on our body and in our body," Colclasure said.

It’s the before and after photos giving Colclasure confidence in Maker Contour D'or.

"I thought 'oh this is snake oil. There's no way,'” Colclasure said. “After I read up on it, I went to Scottsdale for the training. After the results I've seen it's amazing."

So how does it work?

Colclasure says Contour D'or uses ingredients like hydrolyzed lecithin, propylene glycol and a variety of vitamins to help folks lose weight.

"Lecithin is an ingredient that can help break down fat. Vitamin C and vitamin E in it don't have a particular value that I'm aware of," Michael Steelman, M.D. of Steelman Clinic said.

Dr. Steelman says while it doesn't sound harmful he wants to see more research.

"It may improve skin tone and show inches lost and improved skin appearance, but I'd be highly skeptical of people use this and lose significant amounts of weight."

For new client Jantha Freede this is a jump start to her goals.

"I decided to do this so I could take off just that last little bit to maybe fit into my ski pants and have a little bit of color when I get into the hot tub."

Dr. Steelman says the best method to lose weight is to remember the long term goal and don't look for a quick fix.
