WASHINGTON– In an attempt to make community college as prominent as high school education, President Obama is proposing that the first two years of community college will be ‘free for anybody who’s willing to work for it.’

Obama teased his community college proposal in a video uploaded to Facebook on Thursday and is said to deliver a speech on Friday in Tennessee.

Without releasing further information about cost or funding, the White House said those details would be addressed in the State of the Union address on January 20, 2015.

Obama said a world-class education starts with children, but that adults need training, too.

“It’s not just for kids, we also have to make sure that everybody has the opportunity to constantly train themselves for better jobs, better wages, better benefits.”
