FLORIDA– George Zimmerman – the man acquitted by a Florida jury over the death of Trayvon Martin – has been arrested for aggravated assault and domestic violence, according to Florida police.

Zimmerman was granted a $5,000 bond and was ordered to have zero contact with the alleged victim. The court also ordered that he surrender any and all firearms, even though the judge said there was no indication that he used any in this case.

One of Zimmerman’s lawyers claimed that the woman involved in the domestic dispute – Zimmerman’s girlfriend – allegedly threw a wine bottle at his client’s head earlier this week.

Further details about the altercation have not been released.

Zimmerman’s next court date is February 17th.
