PIEDMONT, Okla. — A pharmacy in Piedmont was robbed by an “armed” robber around noon on Saturday.

Two officers were dispatched to the Piedmont Pharmacy on the 200 block of N. Piedmont Rd.

The officers said they saw a white male dressed in colorful clothing running towards a nearby car wash; they briefly chased the suspect on foot when the man surrendered in a field.

Police say the 37-year-old man was unarmed. He allegedly used a tube of sealant as a fake gun to rob the pharmacy of 2 bottles of hydrocodone. That’s when he ran towards the car wash where his car was allegedly parked, and continued to run into the field to avoid police.

They confiscated the drugs and returned them back to the pharmacy, according to reports

The suspect will be charged with robbery by force and fear.
