UPDATE: BancFirst customers’ accounts credited after being overcharged due to glitch

UPDATE: BancFirst says all the accounts that were overcharged have been fixed.


OKLAHOMA CITY – If you are a BancFirst customer, you may want to check your account balance.

Officials with BancFirst confirmed that a data processing error affecting some customers’ checking accounts.

The company says the glitch is charging customers double for every transaction made on their accounts.

The glitch is responsible for many customers being charged overdraft fees.

However, BancFirst will take off all the added penalties, including overdraft fees, that are caused by the glitch.

The company released the following statement:

“We discovered a technical glitch this morning with our data processor. Some accounts may have been affected. We are resolving this issue and reversing any fees for affected customers. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Several customers in the Oklahoma City area have reported being affected by the error.

At this time, we do not know if it is only affecting Oklahoma customers.

Customers are encouraged to call customer service at 1-877-602-2262.
