OKLAHOMA CITY - With Valentine's Day just around the corner, experts say you may want to start preparing now.

According to Rakuten, a survey showed that American men will spend an average of $104, compared to $45 by women.

When asked what they really want for Valentine's Day, 38 percent of men said they wanted a kiss and a hug, followed by food.

Women preferred food or chocolates, followed by affection.

Experts say you don't have to make reservations in advance and spend hundreds of dollars at a fancy restaurant.

Instead, why not make something a little more meaningful at home?

Chef Claes Passmark stopped by the studio to showcase the recipe for a simple ganache.

The ganache recipe is as follows:

  • 8 oz. of semisweet chocolate
  • 4 oz. of cream, heavy whipping
  • 1 tbsp. of dark coffee for flavor.

Place all the ingredients in a stainless steel bowl, then place the bowl over a pot of water to melt the ingredients.

Chill and scoop onto a dish. Then coat it with coco powder.
