NORMAN, Okla. – After a devastating loss in the Russell Athletic Bowl that inspired several coaching changes, the Sooners’ football program may have just received a boost.
Arthur McGinnis, a four-star linebacker, decided to commit to play for the University of Oklahoma via Twitter on Monday night.
“Throughout this whole process I feel that I have grown into a better football player but most importantly into a better man. There’s no limit to how appreciative I am towards all you guys.. Thank you! But as fun as it was, I would now like to announce my commitment to the University of Oklahoma #BoomerSooner.”
Arthur McGinnis is an outside linebacker from New Orleans.
McGinnis was highly recruited from several schools including Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Arizona, Arkansas State, Louisville, Louisiana Tech and Boise State.
McGinnis was the second player to commit to OU on Monday.
Westmoore wide receiver Dahu Green announced his decision to join the Sooners earlier in the day.
Signing day is scheduled for Wednesday.
