LEAGUE CITY, Texas – A Texas couple is counting their many blessings after years of struggling with infertility.
Danielle and Adam Busby had no idea how expensive and challenging their journey to conceive a child would be until they started fertility treatments.
“Every single week it seemed like we were at the doctor’s office doing tests, just an extremely stressful process,” Adam told KPLC.
Fertility drugs and intrauterine insemination proved successful after a few tough months.
The Busbys were thrilled to have their first child, Blayke.
“So we released about four eggs and got pregnant with just one, with our daughter,” Danielle said.
When the couple decided to add another child to the mix, they went through the exact process again, knowing that it would likely be their last shot.
“I told Danielle, ‘This time around you better hope for twins, just because I can’t do this a third time,'” Adam said.
A pregnancy test confirmed Danielle was pregnant, and the ultrasounds to follow got progressively more shocking from one sac to four.
“There’s one that decided it wants to be twins, so it split and now there’s five. We will have five baby girls and then one big sister,” Danielle said.
While there are lots of fears when considering the “what ifs” for the Busby quintuplets, the couple says their faith gives them strength to trust in a much bigger plan.
The couple is documenting their journey on their blog, “It’s a Buzz World.”
Danielle is now 19 weeks along and is expected to be put on bed rest in the next few weeks.
Her doctor’s goal is for her to carry the quints for 28 weeks.
