When gardening, think about using different textures and hues of the same color.

"Sometimes when you use a block of just one color, it creates a lot more drama and a lot more impact," gardening guru, Linda Vater says.

"It helps narrow down the choices when you're trying to put together a composition that is really individual, really unique, and speaks to you."
