OKARCHE, Okla. -  A deadly accident in Kingfisher County claimed the life of a Piedmont teenager on Sunday night.

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) says a 1995 Chevy pickup truck was driving on a county road when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The truck drove off the road and rolled three times before coming to a stop.

The driver, 17 year old Jared Wilson, was thrown about 220 feet from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger inside the truck, 18-year-old Colton Ray, was rushed to a nearby hospital in stable condition. He has since been released.

According to DPS, Ray fell from the truck's window just before the wreck. Officials say he was trying to climb into the bed of the truck from the passenger window.

Authorities say it appears the driver was not wearing his seat belt and was driving too fast on the road.
