ENID, Okla. — Enid Police Department received a 911 call about an unresponsive 18-month-old child in Enid around 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Emergency responders arrived at the 600 block of E. Locust, and found the child actually gasping for air. The child was immediately transported to Bass Hospital.

The hospital reported the child had likely been abused and suffered serious head trauma to the brain.

Investigators questioned Joshua Luckette, 27, who admitted that he was the only one taking care of the baby that day. Luckette was arrested for child abuse and taken to the Garfield County Detention Center.

The toddler is alive and recovering at the hospital.
