OKLAHOMA CITY -- Part of Britton Road has been shut down after an Oklahoma City Police Officer was struck by a vehicle Friday night.

"The officer was responding to a disturbance call in the area. Near University and Britton. I am not sure what the disturbance was. At some point, the officer had to cross the road in which he got impacted," Oklahoma City Police Officer Dutton said.

The officer has been transported to an area hospital. No word yet on his condition.

Dutton says the driver of the vehicle did not go around any road blocks, and no arrests are being made at this time.

The investigation is still on-going.

"Considering the conditions right now, east bound and west bound of Britton will be shut down for the next few hours," Dutton said.
