UNIVERSITY PARK, Texas – A former University of Oklahoma football star is accused of assaulting his wife.

Brennan Clay, a former OU running back, was arrested in Texas in late January, but the allegations are just now coming to light.

In a police report obtained by TMZ, Clay’s estranged wife Gina D’Agostini told officers he kicked down her door and attacked her.

According to TMZ, D’Agostini told police Clay threw her on the kitchen counter, dragged her downstairs, and began to choke her.  The victim also told police that when Clay eventually brought her back into the house, he “began punching and throwing her around the residence.”

Clay was arrested for assault.

He filed for divorce a few months ago after he claimed his wife had an affair with his ex teammate, Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray.

Clay and Murray were teammates at OU.

Clay later apologized to Murray for making those accusations.
