A balanced effort by Oklahoma State wasn't enough as Iowa State wrangled the Cowboys 70-65.

It was a close game throughout with Iowa State owning the biggest lead of the night, 7 points, in the first half.

Four Cowboys finished in double figures. LeBryan Nash and Phil Forte had 13, while Anthony Hickey and Jeff Newberry both added 12.

Newberry had a stellar performance only missing a single shot of the 6 he took. However, it happened to be the game tying shot with 6 seconds left.

OSU had their chances. Georges Niang battled foul trouble all night and only scored 9 points. The Cowboys had a 4 point lead with just over 2 to play, but Dustin Hogue drained a 3 and Niang added a layup to put the Cyclones on top for good.

Jameel McKay had his best collegiate game at Iowa State notching a double-double. 17 points and 14 rebounds, both career highs. The majority of his points came from the free throw line where he went 13 of 18.

Rebounding played a key role in OSU's loss. The Pokes were outrebounded 44-28. 18 to 4 on the offensive boards.

Oklahoma State moves to 7-7 in conference play and hopes to snap their 2 game skid when they host West Virginia on Saturday.
