LAKEWOOD, Wash. (KING) — Inside Tactical Tailor’s 90,000-square foot facility in Lakewood, Washington workers design and build top-grade gear to protect the protectors. They make bulletproof vests, belt clips and body armor for the military and law enforcement.
New to the assembly line is something designed for a different kind of hero, by former firefighter and current police officer, Jeff Shepard.
“It’s Down Range Baby. It’s baby bags for the man,” said Shepard.
The bags are tactical grade, tough enough for the daily diaper duty and inspired by Shepard’s own daddy dilemma.
“The colors when my son was born? There was nothing masculine, nothing good for guys,” said Shepard. “I wanted something that could go to war.”
