NORMAN, Okla. – As many people were focused on the NBA trade deadline, the University of Oklahoma was also changing around its coaching staff.

On Thursday, the university announced that Diron Reynolds was named as OU’s defensive line coach.

Reynolds recently worked as an assistant defensive line coach at  Stanford University after spending over a decade working with several NFL teams.

“Diron is a great fit for our staff with his knowledge and ability to instruct the fundamentals we’ve been using in our defensive system,” said Stoops. “He’s an excellent teacher who learned from respected coaches on both the college and NFL level.”

In 2014, Stanford ranked third in the nation in total defense.

Reynolds will join the OU football team next season pending the approval of the Board of Regents.
