OKLAHOMA CITY- An abandoned dog is looking for a loving family.

The Oklahoma City Animal Shelter recently received a badly injured terrier mix, who was abandoned at the shelter.

The dog, who has been named “Lucky,” is 5-months-old and badly deformed.

Organizers say he has chain markings around his neck and his legs did not form properly.

They believe Lucky spent most of his life on a chain that was so short he was unable to move.

“It’s sad to come to the shelter on a cold morning to find a scared, injured dog, abandoned at our building,” said Julie Bank, superintendent of Animal Welfare.  “Our goal is to get him the medical care he needs and keep him safe.”

He needs surgery and a loving foster home.

Despite the abuse, Lucky is very trusting of people.

Shelter staff are seeking donations to their Angel Fund to help with Lucky’s treatment and surgery costs.

If you have any information on Lucky, call the shelter at (405) 297-3100.
