Controversial ‘conversion therapy’ measure moving forward
OKLAHOMA CITY – Controversial legislation is moving forward.
A House committee passed a bill authored by Representative Sally Kern.
The measure would allow parents to seek sex-orientation counseling for children, sometimes referred to as “gay conversion therapy.”
It cleared committee by a five to three vote.
The bill has been criticized by some for “unfairly” targeting the gay community.
The next stop for the bill is the full House.
