OKLAHOMA CITY – Deputies say a K9 is earning his keep after discovering dozens of pounds of marijuana inside a vehicle.

On Feb. 20, a deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding near I-40 and Western Ave.

As he was talking to the driver, 24-year-old James Cechetini, the deputy reported smelling marijuana.

Authorities called Thor, a K9 with the department, to the scene.

Thor immediately alerted officers to drugs inside the vehicle’s trunk.

Officials say they found 37 pounds of marijuana, which is worth about $30,000.

Cechetini and the passenger, Zachary Reid, were arrested for trafficking illegal drugs.
