CHICAGO (WGN) - A college student in Chicago is facing sexual assault charges after he claims he was attempting to re-enact "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Police say the alleged assault happened in 19-year-old Mohammad Hossain's dorm room at the University of Illinois- Chicago.

According to the criminal complaint, Hossain and the victim had an intimate relationship in the past.

Authorities allege Hossain told the girl to take off her clothes before he tied her up with belts, covered her eyes and hit her with a third belt.

When she told him to stop, prosecutors claim Hossain punched her, held her down and raped her.

Hossain alleges the incident was consensual.
