DALLAS – The Texas nurse who contracted Ebola last year is suing the hospital where she contracted the disease.

26-year-old Nina Pham is Ebola-free, but says that her experience with the deadly disease has left her suffering from body aches and insomnia.

She says that she is preparing to file a lawsuit against Texas Health Resources on Monday.

Pham alleges that Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas failed her by not providing adequate training and equipment.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Pham also says the hospital violated her privacy while she was a patient by ignoring her request that “no information” be released about her.  She also says a doctor recorded a video of her in a hospital bed and released it without her permission.

“Her privacy is gone. People know who she is, they know her as the Ebola nurse,” said Charla Aldous, Pham’s attorney.

Nina Pham contracted the disease last year while caring for Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person to be diagnosed with the disease in the United States.

Her attorney says that Pham wants to help prevent something similar from happening in the future.

“Nina Pham was the primary nurse assigned to Eric Duncan and she had received absolutely no training on how to care for a patient with Ebola. None,” said Aldous.

A Texas Health spokesperson released the following statement:

Nina Pham bravely served Texas Health Dallas during a most difficult time. We continue to support and wish the best for her, and we remain optimistic that constructive dialogue can resolve this matter.
