OKLAHOMA CITY – This week on Flashpoint, Kevin Ogle, Mike Turpin and Kirk Humphreys discussed a controversial measure that is moving forward.

Representative Sally Kern’s bill that would allow parents to seek sex-orientation counseling for children, sometimes referred to as “gas conversion therapy,” passed House committee last week.

The bill has been criticized by some for “unfairly” targeting the gay community.

Gay advocates also say “gay conversion therapy” is harmful and can lead to anxiety and depression.

The Flashpoint panelists announced they would like to have Rep. Kern come on the show to talk about her controversial measure.

After discussing the "gay conversion therapy" measure, civil rights attorney Melvin C. Hall joined the panel to discuss President Obama's patriotism.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani recently accused President Obama of not loving America.

"I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the President loves America. He doesn't love you. And he doesn't love me. He wasn't brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country," Giuliani said.

Hall was appalled by these remarks.

"It's insulting to criticize the President of the United States in this way," Hall said.

It's not just Hall that is offended by these remarks, Kirk Humphreys also found the statement insulting.
