Sooners headed to Columbus for NCAA Tournament

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma's men's basketball team earned a #3 seed for the NCAA Tournament and will play 14th seed Albany in the first round on Friday at 6:27 central time in Columbus, Ohio.

The Sooners are in the East region, and if they win, will play one of three teams in the second round.

Providence will play Friday in the first round against the winner of the "play-in" game between Boise State and Dayton, which will take place on Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio.

This is OU's third straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 29th in school history.

Albany is 24-8 on the season and won both the regular season and tournament titles in the America East conference.

The Great Danes won the America East Tournament on a three-pointer at the buzzer to beat Stony Brook 51-50.

The Sooners have not won a game in the NCAA Tournament since 2009.
