(KGW)Fallout from Indiana’s controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act continues, as Portland Mayor Charlie Hales has banned all city-sponsored travel to Indiana.
He joins mayors from Seattle and San Francisco in boycotting city-funded travel to the state.
Hales calls the Religious Freedom Restoration Act an outrage, and a major step backwards.
Critics of the law say that it will allow discrimination of the LGBT community.
37 States now recognize gay marriage, and critics say Religious Freedom laws are an attempt to counter that.
Mayor Hales says that he will also boycott the U.S. Mayor’s Conference if the law stands.
