OKLAHOMA CITY – Police say a busy burglar is caught on camera sneaking into homes while his unsuspecting victims slept.
Authorities say the victims all made the same mistake by leaving their cars and, in some cases, their homes unlocked.
That mistake allowed the alleged suspect to sneak inside in the middle of the night.
"I'm really pissed off about it," said one victim.
That homeowner asked not to be identified, but video shows the suspect tip-toeing inside his home.
"The fact that someone would come to the back of the house is beyond me, that they would have the audacity to come to the back door and try to open it," said the victim.
Noticing the victim inside, the alleged thief suddenly sprinted for the exit.
However, officials say that didn't stop the crime spree.
"We believe this suspect is connected to several burglaries," said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow, with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Police say the same suspect also rummaged through a roofing truck in a nearby driveway.
He then is accused of stealing money and medicine from a second home while a husband, wife and three kids slept.
"It's really surprising someone is that bold to go in someone's house," said Danny Roach.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the crimes, but having a stranger sneak into their homes is disturbing for victims.
"My wife is just terrified," said the victim.
All the victims learned to be a little more careful at night.
"The lesson I've learned is you never leave an exterior door unsecured," said the victim.
Anyone with information on the alleged suspect seen in the video is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
