ESTERO, Fla. — A Florida woman called 911 Friday after she found a bear in her house eating her Easter candy.

Caroline Tidwell heard the bear before she found it.

“It almost sounded like the Venetian blinds were off track, so it was like tick, tick, tick tick – and then we heard the furniture moving around,” she recalls.

Those sounds were being made a 300 to 400 pound black bear in her house.

“He was making slobbering noises and bear noises,” says Tidwell, who awoke to the commotion.

On Saturday morning the bear showed up again.

“We opened the window and just banged on the pot and said ‘go away bear’ and he went away.”

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials say bear sightings are typical this time of year.
