POTTAWATOMIE, Okla. -- There have been reports of an officer-involved shooting at Highway102 and Lake Rd. near Shawnee's Twin Lakes and the Grand Casino.

Police say Pottawatomie deputies chased a reported burglary suspect down a gravel road, and shots were fired.

Erick Rose

Investigators say 32-year-old Erick Rose broke into a home and then took off from there.

That's when authorities chased him through Pottawatomie County until they reached the rural intersection of Post Office Neck and Lake Rd.

Reports say deputies shot out the tires on the vehicle Rose was driving, sending the car crashing into a ditch.

Police say Rose stepped out with a gun, and that's when deputies shot at the man.

We do not know how many shots were fired, but authorities say Rose was taken to the hospital.

Sheriffs are not releasing his condition at this time.

Rose has a lengthy list of prior arrests, including stolen vehicle and burglary conviction charges in three different Oklahoma counties.

No deputies were injured during the event.
