LAWTON, Okla. – A Lawton mother is being accused of child abuse.

Police were called to an apartment complex during a dispute between neighbors.

They found the women in the parking lot.

They say Melissa Klopner told them her neighbor had taken her two daughters and had them in her apartment.

The neighbor said that she had moved the daughters because their mother was beating the oldest with a broomstick.

Police saw wounds on the girl that were consistent with the neighbor’s account.

Klopner was arrested and booked for Child Abuse.
