Hundreds of strangers attend girl’s birthday party after her classmates decline

MINNESOTA — Ten-year-old Mackenzie Moretter suffers from a rare genetic disorder, and all she wanted for her birthday was a party.

But when she invited her classmates, none of them RSVP’d yes.

So Mackenzie’s mother posted an open invitation on Facebook, asking girls around Mackenzie’s age to help her celebrate.

Hundreds of people — including firefighters, Snoopy and a Minnesota Vikings player — heard about the party and decided to attend, WCCO-TV reported.

The birthday girl said it was the best day of her life.
