TULSA, Okla. — Two Tulsa police officers were injured Thursday morning in an accident on Highway 169.

The officers were southbound in an unmarked police car near 25th St. when traffic slowed for construction further south.

Authorities say a dump truck wasn’t able to stop in time. Both vehicles veered sideways and the dump truck  hit the car, smashing it into the center retaining wall.

Both police officers were transported by ambulance to a Tulsa hospital.  Authorities on the scene said the officers were alert and speaking when they were transported.

The dump truck driver was uninjured.
